ALICE

Yes Alice
WHO
I work in set design for films as a draughtsperson. Effectively I’m drawing artistic scale blueprints to give to the construction team to build the sets. Outside of that, I’m obsessed with pole dancing! I’m also passionate about animals and the environment
FAVOURITE THING ABOUT WHAT YOU DO
I love that I get to draw for a living and feel a part of something. Seeing the finished film is always nerve-wracking and incredible!
AN UPLIFTING SONG
‘We Might As Well Dance’ by Madeleine Peyroux
A CHILL OUT SONG
'5D' by Lykke Li
PODCAST
I’m not a big podcast person as I sort of dip my toes into a handful… but I absolutely adored ‘My Dad Wrote A Porno’
ONE FILM
‘The Cook, the Thief, His Wife & Her Lover’ it’s an intense watch but I feel like everyone should watch it at least once
ONE BOOK
‘Autobiography of Red' by Anne Carson
A SWEAR-BY BEAUTY TIP
Always put on sunscreen in the morning!
A SWEAR-BY HAIR TIP -
I noticed a big difference in my hair when I switched to a shiny pillowcase - I’m vegan so I don’t use the silk ones but it’s a silk alternative. So much sleeker now and less knots!
A SMALL JOY
Stretching! Also waking up in fresh sheets
HAIR WASH ROUTINE
I’m a very simple person when it comes to this, I actually am bamboozled how there can be different ways of doing it. I usually just wash my hair every other day, I always gently squeeze out the water from my hair before using conditioner and let it sit for a bit. I should probably do more research into hair care but I’m sort of a wash-and-go kinda girl
WHY DIZZIAK
Firstly it smells absolutely amazing. Also, it helps my fine hair stay looking fresh on my non-wash days
GREAT HAIR MEMORY
Not a great memory as such, but I was made to feel so insecure about my hair that I wore a wig for around a year in my early twenties to cover it up. It's crazy to me now that I did that. But I definitely feel so happy and proud of myself for loving my hair now, it's been a journey!
NIGHTMARE HAIR STORY
Well, in my teens I used to backcomb the life out of my hair, desperately trying to make it big and poofy. The damage I did must've been unreal. Oh gosh I also dyed it turquoise for a while
FAVOURITE WAY TO STAY ACTIVE
Pole dancing! I'm obsessed. I already mentioned it in this interview. I love putting on a pair of heels and instantly feeling sexy and confident, spinning around on the pole making shapes and almost forgetting that I'm working out. I also do contortion. Hoping to sit on my head soon... gotta stay active somehow!
ICON
This is such a hard question for me, but my childhood idol was definitely Kate Bush. She was and is such a musical pioneer... and I was completely obsessed with her voluminous hair!
IF YOU COULD GO ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD
Vietnam
ONE THING YOU WOULD LOVE TO DO
Live in another country - hopefully coming true very soon!
BEST PIECE OF ADVICE
It’s never too late. Especially with regards to trying something new or making a change. You’re not too old. It isn't too late. No one is coming to push you. Do it!
