One time at school a girl who also had curly hair, but a very different texture to mine shouted “at least I have a good hair day once in a while” to me in the middle of a row about something really trivial and non-hair-related. My cheeks stung with embarrassment, and I went on to ruin my hair with years of styling and heat damage*. I’m only just learning how to treat it right

I have had a really intense need to be somewhere where my senses are overwhelmed, where smells of fresh food cooking, ripe fruit, incense and maybe a slight hint of gasoline moves on a warm breeze and a wall of heat hits you when you open the front door. I last felt that in Morocco⁣⁣
