CURLY BANGS

CURLY BANGS

One of the biggest trends to emerge post-Pandemic has been cuts that work with natural texture, with curly bangs enjoying a long overdue renaissance along with other 70s and 80s styles that work for curls, like the mullet and shag. Popular for men and women across the globe throughout history, the curly fringe peak in the UK was in the Victorian era when Alexandra, the Princess of Wales, spawned a trend for the ‘Alexandra fringe’ – short, curly and frizzy. For those who couldn’t achieve the look naturally, clip-in curly fringes were widely available. Who says celebrity haircuts are a new concept? The curly fringe might come in and out of fashion, but we’ve come a long way from the 1600s, when women who wore curly fringes were described by conservative clergy as ‘representing a slide into mortal sin’.
